The next YTC meeting will take place on Tuesday 10 December 2019 at 7pm.

At the last YTC meeting, Councillors were made aware of some concerns regarding the provision of a PA system for the annual Remembrance Sunday event.
For a number of years, Yarm resident Tommy Reay has provided a PA system to the Council free of charge to ensure all those in attendance can hear the proceedings both clearly and at an appropriate volume. For the last two years, the Council has utilised alternative sources for the PA system however we would like to clarify that this is no slant on the generousity or ongoing support of Mr Reay.

It’s that time of year again – the dark nights are drawing in, the temperatures are starting to drop and mince pies are once again back on the menu!

We are delighted to have funded the magnificent Christmas trees that adorn a number of shops and business premises. We hope you will agree that these look fantastic, and have added some extra festive cheer to the High Street this year.

Many will be familiar with Yarm Clock as it stands proudly above Yarm High Street. And many will have noticed that it was recently silent due to a problem with the hourly “strike” mechanism.
The clock actually has two mechanisms – one to keep the time and the second to strike the bell.
A local resident and volunteer kindly climbs into the roof of the Town Hall every week and “winds up” the mechanism.

There is only one thing that improves the beauty of Yarm High Street – that is Yarm High Street when the flower tubs and hanging baskets are at their best.
With the help of HMP Kirklevington, and warm & wet weather, this year has produced a particularly splendid show.
